Maritime Fest Weekend

Tall ships, an admiral's gig, sailing ships, tugs, vessels with engines, paddle and row boats lined the Thea Foss waterway this past weekend. Billowy clouds kept the temperatures pleasant for those strolling along the waterfront. It was a great weekend for being out on the water.

Maritime Fest

Pinch me, has this weather been real or what? Not too hot, nor cold, there's been no rain to speak of, pleasant breezes... surely its a dream! Hopefully the good weather will continue because the
Vérité is going to be participating in the Maritime Fest this weekend. Come on down and check out the scene.

I am not sure the name of this boat but it will be at the Maritime Fest too.
Here's a link for more information about the festival:

There are good ships and
there are wood ships and
ships that sail the sea,
but the best ships are friendships
and may they always be!

Where Bay and River Meet

August 5
We rushed to escape the stiflingly hot land.
As hoped a cooling breeze wafted over us and we rowed past the granary.
The bay a buzz of activity -
tugs hauling ships in and out,
sailboats dancing to and fro,
and motor boats rushing all around.
We rocked and rolled, and sipped and bit
into tasty morsels.

Push away, push away... was the command
where bay and river meet.
