Wax on, wax off

Just when you think progress is being made you find it necessary to do it all over again.
This past week was just that. We had to do the floorboards again. Rather than fuss, the WOWers put their heads together to find creative ways to get'r done.

And when done there's birthday brownie (with caramel inside!)

First effort was to take the shortest route. That lead to lots of giggles.

In the end it was the long way around that proved to be the easiest.

Okay enough fun putting the oars in the bathroom!
Time to cetol the floorboards.

Who left the foot print?
Not the WOWers!

Happy Birthday Voski!

Winter showers

If winter showers bring spring flowers, what does turpentine, pine tar and linseed bring?

answer:   A boat load of giggles!

Oh, my gosh... last week - what a mess! There was dust everywhere from sanding the oars.

This week it was all about the sauce - boat sauce to be specific. Oh, sure, some of the gals were using cetol to finish the floor boards, but the happiest ones were using the boat sauce. There's something about the smell of the pine tar. It is a little like being 'round a campfire.

Pine tar is a sticky material produced by the high temperature carbonization of pine wood in anoxic conditions (dry distillation or destructive distillation). The wood is rapidly decomposed by applying heat and pressure in a closed container; the primary resulting products are charcoal and pine tar.

We always try to end our work day on a happy note.
Between the sauce and the cupcakes it isn't hard to do.
In fact, a good workday followed by good food is the secret to
cheerfully doing what "U ought to".
