2J's and an S

Today just 2 J's and a S went out. Perhaps the others thought it would rain? The black clouds did looked very ominous, but we found a calm spot to simply admire the marvelous moody day.

We found Thea Foss moored near the museum. She is the prettiest boat in the bay.

The reflections today were wonderful.

2 views - 2 different cameras

Treats today:
Spicy mix, goldfish, cherries and

Gjetost!

It is more like a dessert than cheese.
A perfect ending for a perfect day.

A boat named Spirit and a Little Red Wagon

Adventure is out there -
you just need to bring your little red wagon and you will find it and you might find Spirit too!

Little red wagon sure helped move the kayaks.
In the end only one kayak went out because...

This week's adventure involved Spirit, a boat belonging to the Community Boat Builders.
You have heard the Mother Goose rhyme - Three men in a tub, right?

Rub-a-dub-dub

Three men in a tub,
And how do you think they got there?
The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker,
They all jumped out of a rotten potato,
'Twas enough to make a man stare.

Well, you haven't seen anything till you see 6 WOWers in a boat with rings!
It would make you stare!

Of course there was some initial figuring things out -
Like where do you put this thing?
I will put the fire boat on speed dial, she said,
but some were pretty care free... laughing and

getting comfortable.

With only one more to jump aboard ...

They look pretty happy don't they?

You put the ring where?

It didn't take much and they were all in sync.

Six happy WOWer's full of Spirit, in a boat called Spirit.
Seems redundant, doesn't it?

Down a little channel...
apparently Google map hasn't graced it with a name yet.

With a lot of giggling they swapped positions.

 And then there was tea...

under the Bridge.
Oh, my baked cheese, pimento celery, chocolate bars, food galore
and
no troll in sight.
Perhaps the giggling scared him away?

Yup, just bring your little red wagon...

Paradise in Adventureland

Monday Magic - true to form the the clouds parted, the breeze turned into a gentle waft, and the WOWers became one with the water - again.

News alert! Paradise isn't lost! We found it today!
Oh, what a delightful day it was too.

Six brilliant green kayaks and one red were freed from their binding chains and with great determination brought to the ramp. Jumpin' Jehosiphat! Have you EVER seen the tide so low? It was a -2.4' and the ramp was pitched at nearly vertical.

Undaunted - I say again, UNDAUNTED! (In a whisper saying...The secret is in the power of hands working together.)

Oh, my gosh, the rest of the story... There were CROWLEY's! And at tea time there were roses and warm chocolates. The part of the story that no doubt will makes us all smile, time and again when we remember this day, will be the dance of goslings. You just had to be there. There are no pictures. Someone shouted from dockside we looked like we were ballerinas on the water. I am positive we did too.  Mother swan, Muriel, lead the way. Her goslings peeled off in artful play, our laughing cackling was heard by several as we tried to catch up to her.

Note the rocks!
Not to mention the sea life with their heads out of the water a few minutes later!

Girls just want to have fu'un!

We formed a kayak star and shouted - safe passage Verite!
We miss her - who knows where she is at this point.
May the seas treat her well and bring her home safe.

Past the Fire boat and old building - time to head home...

Yes, we managed to "get out" of the kayaks at dockside,
carry the SEVEN kayaks up the ramp
AND put away the gear!
And that's what you call -
PLAYing the WOman Card!
