Voski
March 13, 1945 - June 2019
Her spirit is free. It is hard to know where her spirit will go... she had so many loves.
She loved the water and being on the Salish Sea.
She often expressed this with sumi-e and haiku.
She respected Matsuo Basho's work.
The Shallows
The shallows -
A crane's thighs splash
in cool waters.
-Matsuo Basho
She loved the land and all the earth.
Her garden was a wonder.
She rejoiced at nature's workings.
She celebrated little things, passages in time and great accomplishments.
Temple Bells
Temple bells dies out
The fragrant blossoms remain
A perfect evening!
- Matsuo Basho
She was creative, clever, and resourceful.
She made things happen.
She gave everything to this life.
Her love of her family, friends and neighbors was unlimited.
This is why it is so hard to let go...
Spring is Passing
Spring is passing
The birds cry and the fishes fill
With tears on their eyes.
- Matsuo Basho
It is with great joy we say she was one of us...
the Women on the Water.
It is so very hard to say good bye.
Warm Summer Sun
by Mark Twain
Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here,
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
Voski - we love you!
